In 2023, through its anniversary concerts, the "Swiss Music Night" could reflect on ten successful and fruitful years of musical exchange between Taiwan and Switzerland. Taiwan and Switzerland, both small countries, share many similarities, starting with their impressive and beautiful mountainous landscapes. Despite their size, both countries offer a great diversity and richness of culture. In these ten years, the Swiss Music Night concert-series established itself as the most significant platform for musical exchange between the two countries, and outstanding musicians and composers from both nations have engaged in a wonderful dialogue, resulting in unforgettable concert experiences for both the performers and the audience.

After highly acclaimed concerts in major cities in Taiwan (in Taipei at the National Concert Hall) and fruitful collaborations with the Academy of Taiwan Strings in 2013, the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) in 2016, and with the Tainan University of Arts (TNNUA) in 2017, the 2018 and 2019 editions surprised the audience in Taiwan by featuring contemporary Swiss Folk Music. The subsequent editions from 2020 to 2023 once again showcased distinguished musicians in the field of classical music. (SMN 2013-2023)

When celebrating an anniversary, it is always a moment to express gratitude, as this musical exchange over the past ten years was made possible only through the great support of numerous people. We are deeply grateful to the TOSI for extending its hand when we initiated this idea in 2013 and for the steadfast support throughout the years. Our heartfelt appreciation also extends to our financial supporters in Taiwan and Switzerland, whose trust and generous assistance enabled this cultural exchange. The realization of such concerts is always a monumental task. While we primarily reside in Switzerland, we regularly visit Taiwan. Since 2018, our highly capable and reliable project manager in Taiwan, Esther Huang, has played a pivotal role in making these concerts a reality. She deserves immense gratitude.

We are also thankful to the numerous musicians who embraced our ideas enthusiastically, as well as to the music institutions and orchestras in Taiwan, such as the Academy of Taiwan Strings, NTSO, and TNNUA, for their fruitful collaborations. Lastly, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the audience for their unwavering interest in our concerts.

In 2024, the 'Swiss Music Night' association is organizing the inaugural 'Taiwan International Cello Festival' (TWICF) for the first time, featuring some of the most distinguished cellists from Switzerland, Germany, and Taiwan.

Bringing joy and enriching everyday life is the great privilege of music, and we eagerly anticipate a future that continues to open many doors for cultural exchange between Switzerland and Taiwan.
